The concerned section of the highway/access road faced potential flooding during extraordinary weather events.
A strategic water transfer and flood mitigation strategy was required to overcome challenges which included:
- Poor water quality and variable solids in the area;
- Limited control of water with road interface;
- Remote location, which makes it harder to access services and solutions fast;
- Strict discharge and environmental management to adhere to;
- Limited access for personnel access and refuelling capabilities to deliver the solution;
- The need to maintain strict water level variations within the catchment.

Innovative water pumping application solution
Following consultation and agreeing of key deliverables, AMG Pump Rentals implemented its solar pontoon system with fully integrated remote telemetry and monitoring on both asset and water catchment levels.
We also installed and commissioned a standby diesel pump set as a back up to heavy cloud conditions as well as additional redundancy for extraordinary weather events, requiring an immediate increase in discharge rates.
